Economic impact
Norway has a history of developing natural resources and is well positioned to further develop a sustainable mineral industry.
Europe is in an excellent position: we can use our advantage in clean tech innovation and skills development to turn the industry into a powerhouse of innovation and change and, in doing so, achieve the highest social and environmental standards for European mining, just as Norge Mineraler is doing.”

CEO and Managing Director of EIT RawMaterials
Supporting the transition
to a new Norway
Norge Mineraler is well positioned to support Norway’s ambition to develop a sustainable mineral industry. We will do this in the following ways:
Regional – Rogaland/Eigersund
Positive demographic development – increased settlement in the Eigersund region, through new jobs and growth.
Socio-economic development – new jobs and career opportunities in a very wide range of disciplines in a high-tech enterprise.
National – Norway
Transfer existing knowledge – from the oil and gas industry to critical resource security and supply.
Contribution to GDP growth – and development of national infrastructure.
International – Europe
Accelerate the green transition – by creating integrated battery value chains of phosphate (for Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries) and vanadium (for long-term energy storage).
Maintain the strategic significance of Norway on an international stage – with the supply of Critical Raw Materials needed by governments
and industries.
Socio-economic development
Direct and indirect contribution to increased value creation and ripple effects, for example through increased employment across several sectors.
Contribute to the green shift
Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through more efficient exploration, extraction, and processing, as well as customer transport of the materials.
Demographics
Contribution to increased employment in areas currently experiencing population decline.
Infrastructure improvement
Development of infrastructure that is necessary for operations will also have positive ripple effects for the local environment.
